Additionally, the Counsel & Advocacy Law Line (CALL), provides free legal advice over the phone (no representation) to low-income families and individuals (under 200% of federal poverty). You can apply online anytime, or call 1-888-783-8190 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 9:00 am -5:00pm; Wednesday - 9:00 am - 6:00 pm; or Friday - 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please note that callers often experience long hold times. If you do not qualify for CALL, you can get connected to an attorney through the State Bar of Michigan's Lawyer Referral Services. You can use the Lawyer Referral Service online or call 1-800-968-0738 Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:45 pm for a referral to a lawyer in your area who practices the kind of law you need. The initial referral is $25 which provides you with the attorney referral and a 25-minute consultation.
